Nicasio Latasa is a native Southern Californian who has lived in Oceanside for most of his life. He graduated from El Camino High School and went on to Cal State San Marcos where he earned a degree in Writing/Literature. In 2003 Nicasio self-published a book of poetry named Seasons of Silence. He continued to write and gather a broad perspective on the various ingredients of life during surf trips he embarked upon around the world.

Stumbling Upon Mowgli is Nicasio’s first novel and comprised of many of his boiling passions: the written word, surfing, the soul, the heart, family, friendship, traveling, the magnificent ocean, and the love and passion that life creates. Nicasio lives with his incredible wife Nicole and their new blessing, Grace, who was born in March of 2010.
